Modrotlac

Description

This is made with the traditional Slovak folk technique called "modrotlač" (blueprint in literal translation, althout it English it's a different technique). It's negative block printing (or a combination of printing and painting, in this case) where the mixture on the cloth prevents the color from getting there. The color is made from indigo, and its stable due to chemical reaction with oxygen.
Made during a workshop led by Matej Rabada. I didn't have much time, as the space was limited and only a few people could work in it at once, so the painting is a bit hurried. The width of the cloth is about 1 meter, so it's actually quite big.

Nice work
In Hungary that technique is called "kékfestő". Looking at your work, I get really nostalgic: we went on some class trip to blueprint masters, and look their workshops.
