"Make some exciting Middle-Earth food for your friends, dress up like an inhabitant of Middle-Earth and then send us a picture of you and the meal. As always, creativity is more appreciated than talent and equipment: the right combination of average clothes can be as good as any special costume. The point is to get a nice picture from you "
So... as a historical fencer, I have a lot of costumes and equipment. It even felt a bit like cheating, to just put one of them on and take a photo - it wouldn't require much effort. Also, it was hard to decide which one to use... and so I decided to use them all, and put them into one photo! (My living room haven't been this crowded since last New Year.)
The characters from left to right
standing - a gondorian lady, a ranger from Eriador, a soldier from Gondor
sitting on the couch - a Laketown archer and his wife, an elven lady from Rivendell
sitting on the ground - a dancer from Harad, Finrod (design according to the icon I use for my RP account - , made by kittykatkanie ), First Age Elf at the shores of Cuiviénen
Everything is sewn by me, except the golden dress and the white dress (which I "inherited"), and a few accesories.
The food on the table are the famous Middle-earth taters, boiled with skin and served with salt and butter, and the "One Donut"
I like the Gondorian woman's outfit and the Ranger one best. And the One Donut is pure genius.
Thank you! I'm working on a new medieval (or Gondorian...) costume of a high noble now
Oooh, can't wait to see that! I have a lot of fun in designing costumes and styles for different peoples of Middle-earth - especially Gondor.
