You're Invited To Try The New Sidebar
UPDATE: The opt-in period for the new sidebar has closed as of October 7th. Thank you to everyone who participated in this early opt-in period. The feedback we’ve received so far has been invaluable in helping us improve and optimize the sidebar. Please continue sharing your feedback! Moving forward, we’ll now be rolling out the new sidebar to a wider pool of deviants, so no more need to opt-in. Again, thanks so much to those who participated for helping us create a better DeviantArt experience! You’re invited to try a brand new sidebar that gives you quick access to some of your favorite features and groups! The Goal of The New Sidebar There are several ways to browse and consume content on DeviantArt, and with this update, our goal was to create a consistent experience across Browse (New and Popular), Search, Daily Deviations, Topics, Groups, and most importantly, deviants you watch. Bringing more attention to Groups was a big part of this update, and we have plenty more planned

Group news
We're having more and more difficulties featuring some deviants. Sometimes, there is a way to feature the artwork anyway, without resizing, sometimes not. For example, it seems impossible to feature an artwork made in Muro, at least when "Watch Redraw" is activated. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Stay safe!

It's challenge time: storytelling
Dear members,
Welcome to CRPhotography (https://www.deviantart.com/crphotography)'s first challenge of 2019! We decided to steer away from monthly contests and simply offer you some cool challenges when we happen to come up with ideas we think you might enjoy.
Prizes will also be different with these challenges, as will the judging process. To learn more, please keep reading!
The Challenge:
For this challenge, we'd like to focus on storytelling. We want you to tell us a story in three photographs. These three photographs can be separate, or you can edit them together as a triptych, as you wish.
The story can be whatever you want, however it must clearly be a story. If you need to

What's Next for Eclipse: Watch
As @danlev mentioned in a previous change log, we'll be covering some areas of DeviantArt Eclipse with more in-depth journals. Last week, we kicked off with a journal dedicated to updates that are coming soon to Feedback! This week, one of the essential areas of DeviantArt is Watch. It’s where we go to discover what’s new amongst who we follow, and get inspired by things we’re familiar with and love. We wanted to make sure your Watch experience is just as exciting as your Browse experience, but also as efficient as your Feedback experience. We’ve decided to make the Watch page dedicated solely to Watch – so you’ll no longer see the tabs for “Watch”, “Feedback”, and “Notes”. As soon as you’re on Watch, it’ll be just that – everyone and everything you watch! Here are some related updates we’ll be introducing to you all soon: New Navigation No more multi-clicks or dropdowns to get to the content you want to see. You’ll now be able to filter your Watch through a sticky header – so

Eclipse Change Log: December 12, 2018
This week, nearly the whole DeviantArt team — encompassing staff members from Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, Kiev, and Vancouver, to name a few — has come together at our HQ in Hollywood to focus on Eclipse and plan what’s in store for 2019. As a reminder, we’re continuing to work on the bigger community feedback concerns — including customization and improvements to Feedback — and we hope to share more soon. Since the holidays are coming up, and many people on our team are traveling or taking time off, we won’t have a change log to share for a short while. But we want to let you all know that we are continuing to review and analyze your feedback, and we look forward to sharing more updates with you early next year! Change Log Literature descriptions are back! (Popular request!) After replying to a comment in Feedback, the notification is now automatically removed. (Popular request!) Comment link pages now have "parent" and "top" buttons, and are now centered for easy readability. (Popular

Another week, another change log! Thank you for your continued feedback and bug reports! Please keep in mind that larger feature requests and issues take additional time to address — but know we are actively working on them. In the meantime, we’ll continue to share these change logs with some of the smaller changes and bug fixes, so that you follow along with the progress of Eclipse. We’ve also been receiving reports about various issues regarding images, image compression, image URLs, and filenames. DeviantArt recently switched to a new system to serve images and we’re currently looking into the issues that you’ve been reporting. Change Log New deviation background presets have been added! GIF avatars are now scaled scaled up properly, preserving their pixelated look without any blurring. Thank you to all those who brought up this issue! Premium Content now has a more prevalent Buy button. Mentions now contain user symbols. Fixed issue where mentions would not work when you simply
