YAY HOBBIT!Just returned from the midnight viewing of The Hobbit. And no, I did not dress up. All I had was The One Ring I got from an old Lord of the Rings bookmark and put it on a chain. I believe that small token at least satisfied the god of Tolkien nerdyness. :XD:
I'm not going to say much about the movie other than my overall opinion, for I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. I had only a few severe dislikes about the movie, but for the most part I greatly enjoyed it. And I really very much want the soundtrack. :iconheeplz:
And now I am putting myself to bed.

My RoadThis journal will contain some great photographs of a winter paradise.
On December, a friend of mine, musher known as a legend, the great mentor to me has passed away, I traveled up to the mountains and went on mushing alone (skijoring: cross-country skiing + sled dog, it looks like that: http://i.pinger.pl/pgr221/0fa2234e000267884b460f96/justyna_kowalczyk_10.jpg but with a dog pulling you) with my leader Arnaq. Instead spending Christmas at cozy places, I've been very hardly training cross-country skiing (skate style) alone and with my dog as well. On that month I've been doing negatively physically as well mentally, especially that feeling of emptiness after losing someone where you will never see this person again- sport was absolutely to best thing to help myself to overthink many things and make me to stand on feet properly. 
But other than sport by itself I did but that trip was kind of my personal memorial for that musher who passed away. In his name I went on mushing. For
art theft once again!update on the art theft! the publisher, Puerto de Escape, has apologized (both publicly and personally). i woke up this morning to find a statement on their website that they will remove the covers from circulation, which i am pleased with! i am still undecided on what to do by way of legal action, but i'm happy that the publisher has responded! thanks everyone for all your help, it's thanks to you that i was taken seriously.
the latest in the lois-gets-her-art-stolen chronicles: a chilean publisher has decided to take this artwork, drag it through photoshop hell, and use it as a cover for this book, obviously without permission or compensation of any kind. not only is it copyright infringement but making book covers this ugly should be outlawed too.

I've been a lot in traditional art society, and just... I spotted this artwork. No, at the first it was a photograph for me. For really long time I wasn't interested to take a look deeper at that common photograph until I got bothered by loads of people to take a peek on it. 
That really knocked me out from chair, is not the fact it's 100% painting but it's watercolor. I've seen 100% photo looking a like acrylics, oils and really mixed medium ways of paintings but... watercolor alone? And that's from simple watercolor "squares" palette. 
I'm not really fan of photo-realistic paintings, I do love real life paintings with very artistic touch and with it's own original style... but for this one I have lots of "wow" for this artist to master watercolor on insane level of skill by using simple techni

Cintiq+ New Laptop+ SAI PAINTER= HAPPYOMG GUYS....I AM SOOO EXCITED. I got my new laptop back, and bought a Cintiq...AND AND....
wait for it.....
SAI PAINTER!
I have been trying since like, SAI first came out to get it to work on my Mac.
I LOVED using it back in the day, but sadly, I ended up with a Mac at one point and Photoshop it was (don't get me wrong I love photoshop). Granted I learned to use Photoshop but I missed SAI and it's ability to color and blend things with ease all while keeping that lovely "crisp" edge and rich color.
Now I can do both! I was able to get Sai to work with pressure sensitivity on my mac :D
So yeah.... expect all the rest of my commissions to be painted in SAI with photoshop for texture, etc. :P
Freelance stuff will still be done in Photoshop, it's easier to work with transparencies.
WOOO! I'm so excited to get started! Will be home tomorrow evening. So stay tuned! :>
Cookbook progress listFirst a quick note: If like me you're driven insane by the inanity that is More Like This, you can disable it for yourself thanks to `parallellogic:
This journal is to keep track of my progress on the cookbook. I'm not reveal everything in details, but I need to keep track of how many pages it runs. I'm always faced with the dilemma of keeping the price low for the user (meaning less pages) vs. making it a really good reference (more pages, more printing costs). I hope to find a good middle ground. I must say also that I've been working on a parallel booklet focused on spices, but in my efforts to keep it short I ended up having a lot of compact text. So I stopped while I decide how to make it more engaging again.
