Shhh...

Listen...
Do you hear it?

rustling trees,
buzzying bees,
summer breeze
someone's sneeze...

voice of street,
hearts that beat
people breathe,
then repeat

Rhythm set free:
one two three
one two three
hear the song
dance with me

There's melody in my mind
Magical melody, murmuring, moody
Musical mystical moving melody

There's melody in my mind
But shh....
Listen...
I'll tell you a secret.

I cannot sing.

Imagine that feeling.
Those tones frozen between your mind and mouth, that melody you can't express.
Imagine one of those songs that give you goosebumps, that clutch your heart and make you cry "Yes! Yes, that's it!"
Imagine you want to share it with everyone... but can't.
When you try to repeat the melody, it is off and quavers and screeches like nails on the board.

There's melody in my mind, and it wants to be heard, to be set free.

And so I paint.
The colors are my symphony.
I sound the violins of sky-blue, the lutes of green and drums of violet.

And so I write.
The words on paper are my tones.
I let my poems set the rhythm and my characters sing the vocals.

And so I dance.
My body like an instrument,
a string vibrating to create the sound.

And so I fence.
The clash of swords
adding that deep undertone of danger and passion

And so I climb mountains and listen to trees,
drink from the wells and swim in lakes
pursuing those elusive tones
that reverberate through the whole being
that sound and sing and spread and form
the melody in my mind

Shh...
Listen.
No words are needed.
If you are quiet, you can hear it.

English is not my first language, so my pronounciation might be off in a few places, and maybe I have an accent, I have no idea if I do, and would love to hear what you think about it :)
I think I also made a mistake in one place, but I couldn't record it again, as the microphone was borrowed from my friend :blushes:

I haven't listened to this yet (I will! As soon as I'm in my room, and not sitting out in the living room expected to socialize), but lovely poem. :D
